An estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with dementia. In the United States alone, more than 6 million have Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million are providing unpaid care. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease. • Leads the field in research around risk reduction by investing in studies such as SPRINT MIND, the first randomized clinical trial to demonstrate that aggressive treatment of blood pressure can significantly reduce the occurrence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
