In this session, you will learn about current and trending issues that include regulation, litigation, innovation and the evolving role of plan fiduciaries. The “regulation” section will focus on the current state of the Fiduciary Rule and the impact following President Trump’s review and implementation of the law following the current RFI. The “litigation” section will expose what happens when plan fiduciaries “fall asleep at the wheel” and do not follow their written Investment Policy Statement – or blindly move to lowest cost mutual funds. On the topic of “innovation”, we will address Collective Investment Trusts (“CITs”) and why plan advisors are rolling these out nationally and how these can mitigate the risk of large losses in a 2008 year scenario.
